About

Hi, I'm Angel Nwafor.

I started in tech in 2022 with no formal background in it; just a stack of courses on IT, software and data science, and a lot of curiosity. By 2023 I'd talked my way into a community manager role at EmpowerHer as a technical writer, and from there into writing about DeFi and Web3 as a content creator and managing other communities like Uniscope and WomenInDeFi.

My first project management role came later that year, and I'll be honest: I didn't fully understand project management when I took it. There weren't many resources that actually broke operations down for people starting out, so I learned mostly from my own mistakes, in real time, while the work was happening.

Right now

  • Chief Operations Officer, Konoha Foundation
  • Chief Product Officer, HammetLabs
  • Managing Director, WittyLTD
  • Executive Director, The Operators Corner
Work With Me

Over the three years that followed, I worked as a project and programs manager, leading multiple programs and partnering with cross-functional teams across the board. I managed events too, online and offline, which taught me a different kind of operating discipline than product work does. That track record led to a promotion to Chief Operations Officer at Konoha Foundation, where I still serve today, and I'm now also Chief Product Officer at HammetLabs, where product and operations are exactly where I live, and Managing Director at WittyLTD.

Alongside all of that, I've taught series on project management, leadership and operations, mostly for people who were where I was in 2023: capable, motivated, and without a clear map. What I've come to believe, after leading teams through hyper-growth, restructures and the quiet seasons where the only job is to keep the machine humming, is this: operators think in systems. The best ones don't shout, they build. They install the structures that make great work feel inevitable and they coach the humans inside those systems with care.

I also learned something else along the way: it matters enormously to be surrounded by people who think the same way. That's the real reason The Operators Corner exists, and why I now serve as its Executive Director. I built it to be the community and the resource I didn't have when I was starting out: a place to learn the craft of operating, to meet other builders and vision translators and to get better at the work of turning ideas into systems that actually scale.
